Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies.
And if any man think that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.
But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is none other God but one.
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
But meat commends us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak.
For if any man see thee which have knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
And through your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
But when you sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
Wherefore, if meat makes my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, lest I make my brother to offend.
1 Cor. 8:1-13
This Chapter explains it all about we as believers, and those that worship idols. Some to this day, they worship people (celebrities, people in authority, Christians, and elders), God's creatures and things. We as God's people should not worship even the virtuous woman, that has many arms, some have made a idol of her, even the unsaved. We are followers of Christ which is neither male nor female. Everybody is searching for a hero, people want someone to look up to, I never found anyone down here that fulfills my need, a lonely place to be, but I rather depend on the Lord, through Christ Jesus. We can't look to each other, we can't rely upon the arm of flesh, nor children, mother, father, sisters, nor brothers, not even in Christ. We worship and serve God in spirit and in truth, a Spirit, the invisible God. So we must look at his commandments to love our neighbor as we would ourselves. I believe in God and His beloved Son, but to all this is not their knowledge, so what do I do? But live unto God, and let him do the work, no man can come to the Father except He draw them. Not by power, nor by might, but by God's Spirit.....Amen. Christ said to Love one another as I have loved you; that is the grace that He have given us to abide in the calling which he have called us; I can't give that which I know not of. But I know that I wouldn't want anyone to force me to serve their god, so I must love others, as I would want to be respected. Noah built a ark to the saving of his house, you are the light of the world, pray for the lost, and sanctify the Lord Jesus in your heart, that we will be able to give a answer to everyone that ask us the reason of the hope that is in us (with meekness and with fear), that is all you can do...Amen.
